Craft Fair Table

Here are a couple pictures from our table at the St. Michael's Spring Craft Fair. They had a great turnout at the fair and we met lots of friendly folks!

5 for 5 Challenge

The 5 Cards for $5 Challenge was a lot harder than I expected! I really wanted to do full size cards with envelopes for this challenge, rather than mini-cards, since I wanted to make the style of cards that I really use. That did make it harder to switch up the look though, since I wasn't using different sheets of cardstock.

Supplies Used:

Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 Patterned Paper + Element page = 1.60 (both sheets on clearance)
5 Cards w/ Envelopes (bought with coupon) = .55
Ribbon + Twine = .15
Prima background text Stamp (bought on sale) = 1.19
Studio G "thanks!" Stamp= 1.00 (AC Moore $1 section)

TOTAL: $4.49

Additional tools: paper cutter, corner rounder, adhesives, flower punch

And here are the cards:

My favorite is definitely the typewriter card, love the way that background came out and I love the vintage typewriter element!

Lorax Kid's Collage

Here is another project with upcycled materials from the Cary Creative Center:

Before:

After:

I'll be teaching this collage as a kids' class at the Cary Creative Center on April 18. Should be lots of fun to help some little kids make their very own Lorax collages!

Upcycled Spring Collage Card

I have started volunteering at the Cary Creative Center (C3), a new reuse/scrap store in Cary, NC.  Similar to the Scrap Exchange in Durham, NC, C3 takes cast-off materials that would otherwise be trashed and makes them available to re-use.

All of these materials were picked up at the C3 shop:

I then turned these into a lovely collage card for Easter:

Seed Packet Collage Cards

This set of 4 cards began as a collage of vintage seed packets onto painted watercolor paper.  The water color paper was then stamped and vintage book page images were added. Then I put on the seed packets and finally a few flower stickers.

The seed packet images were found online at a public domain government web page.

Mother's Day: pick 3

Here are some Mother's Day cards:

I love this Abraham Lincoln quote and these great papers compliment the embellishments so well.

This is a very elegant card for an elegant Mom.

Again, what more is there to say than 'you're the greatest'!

Father's Day - three to choose from

Here are some Father's Day cards... what do you think?

A Father's Love embellishment on a William Shakespeare sonnet in manly shades of blue, green and brown.
This is a white card with a brown hand stamped pattern paper on top with the ribbon and embellishment 'the greatest Father'.

I got carried away with the idea of hand stamping my own patterns. I like this card that simply states 'many thanks, Dad'. What else is there to say on Father's Day?

Angel Collage

This angel collage is for the Take a Word Challenge. I realize that angels are usually ethereal and wispy, but my angel is a tad on the bulky side. LOL That's OK with me though, as long as she can still fly! :)

Birdcage Cigar Box Collage

This shadow box collage is made in a cigar box with upcycled vintage book & magazine pages and images. The box has been sanded, painted, and lined with Japanese Washi paper.

Feather Pen Card

This feather pen card was created for the Fascination with Feathers challenge.  The alphabet & sentiment stamps are Inkadinkado, the rub-on feather is Hambly, and the writing paper square is from a K & Company embellishment sent. The airmail envelope is vintage, found at a resale shop.

I have been waiting for the right opportunity to use this awesome feather rub-on, so I am glad this challenge came up! Hope you like the card!

Rainbow gift tag

One more RAINBOW! This is a gift tag that would be perfect for a hostess gift at a cookout or other Summer event. My favorite part is the single sparkly orange gem!

Also see my rainbow journal.

Simple Flower

This elegant, simple flower card was created for the Tuesday Trigger challenge. Here is the inspiration photo:

And here is my card:

I used a simple neutral background with just a pop of color on the flower, and kept the sentiment neutral as well.

The flower is colored with various colored pencils then cut out and glued onto the brown cardstock. The sentiment is stamped and adhered with pop dots.

Green Spring Collage

I created this collage for the GREEN challenges at Take A Word and Collage Obsession. I wanted to use a fun bright green color but go in a different direction than a St Patrick's Day theme, so I decided to use the idea of Spring or a garden, because I am definitely ready for Spring!

This collage is acrylic & various papers on a watercolor paper base.

Rainbow Art Journal

This kid's art journal was designed with a rainbow over top of a few doodled flowers.  This would make a great Summer art book!

Sweet Mom's deserve sweet cards

I have had so much fun with these great K & Company embellishments. I think they are perfect for Mother's day. The blue is the same in all cards - the color looks most accurate in this first photo.

I love chocolate!
"But not as much as you" or "Just one of the many things we share" or "Just one of the many loves I inherited from you" could be written inside for a heartfelt but humorous card.

And what Mother shouldn't be allowed to break all the rules on her day - cake for breakfast? Yes please!

Mom's - it's your day, enjoy a sweet temptation.

Rainbow Card

This card was created for the Paper Crafts Magazine March RAINBOW Challenge!  This card is stamped with the Beyond Borders set from Mint Motif, then colored with a rainbow of colored pencils. Perfect for sending a smile!

Kid's Art Journal

I made this kids art journal with chipboard covered in gesso, which I then collaged & drew on. I used 2 book rings to fill the book with 16 pages of thick watercolor paper, ready for all the drawing & painting a kid can dish out!

Spring card set

This card set is an all occasion design with a patterned paper over yellow cardstock. I also added a 2-layer dimensional flower with a pink brad for the center. These would be perfect for an Easter card, or for any Spring occasion.
